Ice Cube Stars in Sequel to the Hit Comedy 'Are We There Yet?' Under Direction of Steve Carr
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Filming has begun in Vancouver on Revolution Studios' "Are We Done Yet?," a sequel to the hit comedy "Are We There Yet?" The film, which is being directed by Steve Carr and reunites stars Ice Cube and Nia Long, will be released by Columbia Pictures on April 6, 2007.
"Are We Done Yet?" is being produced for Revolution Studios by Ice Cube, CubeVision's Matt Alvarez ("Barbershop," "Friday After Next," "All About the Benjamins," "Are We There Yet?" and the FX series "Black.White.") and Broken Road Productions' Todd Garner ("xXx," "13 Going On 30," "The Forgotten," "Are We There Yet?"). The screenplay is by Hank Nelkin with rewrites by Robert Ramsey & Matthew Stone and J. David Stem & David N.Weiss.
A follow-up to the hilarious 2005 family comedy hit "Are We There Yet?,"(which grossed $100 million worldwide), "Are We Done Yet?" picks up where the last story left off. Now married to Suzanne (Nia Long), Nick Persons (Ice Cube) has bought a quiet suburban house to escape the rat race of the big city and to provide more space for his new wife and kids Lindsey and Kevin (Aleisha Allen and Philip Bolden). But when his new home quickly becomes a costly "fixer upper" and he finds himself at the mercy of an eccentric contractor (John C. McGinley), Nick's suburban dream soon becomes a riotous nightmare.
Ice Cube was recently seen in "Are We There Yet?" His other film credits include "Barbershop 2," which he also produced, the "Friday" series, "Barbershop," "Three Kings," "Higher Learning" and "Boyz N the Hood."
Nia Long, who played Suzanne in "Are We There Yet?," was most recently seen in "Big Momma's House 2." Her previous credits include "Alfie," "Big Momma's House," "Boiler Room," "The Best Man," "Soul Food" and "Boyz N the Hood."
John C. McGinley, who plays local realtor/building inspector/contractor Chuck Mitchell Jr., is currently starring in the television series "Scrubs." His other credits include "Office Space," "The Rock," "Talk Radio," "Wall Street" and "Platoon."
"Are We Done Yet?" co-stars Philip Bolden, ("How to Eat Fried Worms," "Johnson Family Vacation," "The Animal," "Little Nicky," "Mystery Men") who plays Kevin, and Aleisha Allen ("School of Rock," "The Best Man") who plays Lindsay, both of whom are reprising their roles from "Are We There Yet?".
Steve Carr most recently directed the comedy "Rebound" starring Martin Lawrence. His other feature credits include "Daddy Day Care," "Dr. Dolittle 2" and "Next Friday."
