OVER IT Releases Virgin Debut Album, Extends 2006 Tour Into Mid-Fall

'Step Outside Yourself' Album in Stores August 29

NEW YORK, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Young, strong, fast, smart and ready: that's the progress report for OVER IT, the pop-punk quintet whose hard- thrashing major-label debut STEP OUTSIDE YOURSELF, is being released August 29th on Virgin Records.

With OVER IT's fifth go-round on the Vans Warped Tour just wound up, the five-man assemblage powers into their Virgin Records album release as a road- tested band, to say the least: their strong international grass-roots following has bought tens of thousands of their three indie-released CDs, and packed out the band's career total of over 700 live shows over the last four years.

The members of OVER IT, Peter Munters (vocals, guitar), Nick Bailey (guitar, vocals), Seth Watts (bass guitar, vocals) and James Ulrich (drums) (joined earlier this year by new member and guitar genius Ryan Ogren, formerly of Don't Look Down) forged their melodic, powerfully emotional and sharp-edged sound as young college undergrads. "We just like to play loud; we like to play fast; we like to play energetic and angsty; but we also like infectious, timeless pop music, and that's what we were raised on," says frontman Munters.

Appropriately, OVER IT has drawn repeated praise for "not so much pushing the boundaries of the screamo envelope, but spitting it back at the mailbox," (Hammer). The album track "Siren on the 101" is "ridiculously catchy," adds Alternative Press, and "one of the best singles you'll hear all year," (Revolver). A spring tour with Yellowcard took the band to eighteen college campuses in less than two months, and OVER IT will stay on the road for the rest of the summer, and into October.
