UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., July 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Brick, the provocative and boldly original critically acclaimed crime thriller, reveals its dark secrets August 8, 2006 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Brick stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Third Rock from the Sun"), Lukas Haas (Witness), and Emilie de Ravin ("Lost") in a gritty tale of violence, drugs, murder and vengeance. Writer/Director Rian Johnson masters an intricately woven detective story, complete with an obsessed investigator, femme fatale, cleverly sardonic dialogue and enough twists, turns and double-crosses to rival the best Hollywood murder mysteries.
Johnson's debut feature film, Brick, was awarded the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival for its rich evocation of the dangerous and unpredictable world that looms under the surface of everyday life. A thought-provoking thriller with razor-sharp sensibility, Brick takes audiences on an unconventional ride into an edgy mystery with wit and energy.
In Brick, a panicked phone call sets Brendan Frye (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a teenage loner, on the trail of his missing ex-girlfriend (Emilie de Ravin) and straight into an unexpected criminal underworld. As Brendan unearths clues to the young woman's disappearance and navigates increasingly dangerous territory, he confronts the Pin (Lukas Haas), a sinister figure at the center of the mystery. DVD is priced at $29.98 SRP. Preorder close is July 5, 2006.
