LittleMissMatched Says 'Lights, Camera, Action!'
NEW YORK, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- LittleMissMatched, the company renown for selling socks that don't match in odd numbers, is hosting its own short film contest. And they're talking short -- as in one minute long, tops! There are two rules to the contest: 1) Your film must be about creativity and individuality in some way, shape or form. 2) You must use at least two LittleMissMatched socks. Otherwise, anything goes. If you're eight or 80, amateur or expert, LittleMissMatched wants to help you celebrate however mismatched you are.
"Whether you break the rules or embrace the rules, whether you're high fashion or high minded, our mission is to encourage people to express their true identity. Now we're looking to the creative field of film-making to bring our mission to life on the silver screen (or the computer screen!)," explains Jonah Staw, LittleMissMatched CEO.
Three entries from the contest will be chosen to win either a Fabulous "Get Out the Vote" prize of $1,000, a Marvelous "Best in Show" prize of $500 or a Zany prize of the box-o-socks for the kookiest short film entered!
Not only will the contest be a fun adventure for imaginative kids and adults, but an opportunity for up-and-coming auteurs to have their work scoped out by film gurus, advertising honchos, entrepreneurs and innovators. The panel of judges that will choose the "Best in Show" winner includes Jonah Bloom (Executive Editor, Ad Age), Shane Drake (Music Video Director), Rafael Fernandez (Commercial Director), Liz Garbus (Academy Award Nominated Producer and Director), Wayne Hanson (Creative Director of ATTICK), Hayley Hill (Special Projects Director, Teen People), Rob Pearlstein (Academy Award Nominated Director and Writer) and Aaron Reitkopf (President/Managing Partner, Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners).
Contest entry forms are found at http://www.littlemissmatched.com/ and must be submitted by July 28, 2006. Socks do not need to be the focus of the film but two or more LittleMissMatched socks must appear at least once.
You can also enter via LittleMissMatched's My Space page at http://myspace.com/littlemissmatchedsocks. Thus far, LittleMissMacted has more than 400 friends and counting, united by the need to express themselves in the most whimsical of ways. Happy MissMatching!
