Comcast Bundles Up for Summer
Three-Product Bundle of Voice, Video and High Speed Internet Now Available in Bay Area With Consumer Savings of Up to $350 a Year
SAN RAMON, Calif., July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast today announced that it has introduced a three-product bundle in the San Francisco Bay Area, offering its Digital Cable with ON DEMAND, Comcast Digital Voice and Comcast High Speed Internet products for $33 each for 12 months when customers subscribe to all three. The offering represents consumer savings of more than $350 per year and, in addition to the many product benefits, allows for one bill, one customer service point of contact, and one installation visit to the home.
"Our bundle represents incredible cost savings coupled with best-in-class products and service in all three areas -- Voice, Video and Data," said Rick Germano, senior vice president, Comcast Northern California. "The simultaneous rollout of Comcast Digital Voice and our three-product offering is delivering an unbeatable one-two-three punch."
More than 90% of Comcast's Bay Area cable systems began offering the bundle today with upcoming launches planned for Monterey, Santa Cruz, Walnut Creek, Pittsburg, Antioch, Bay Point and Castro Valley. In markets that have offered the bundle for 30 days or more, nearly one out of four new customers are taking all three service offerings, and more than half of Digital Cable customers now have at least two Comcast services. Comcast has begun to promote the new offer through a multi-faceted, mass media advertising campaign that includes TV, print and radio buys.
This expected high-volume of bundled sales has led Comcast in the Bay Area to add staff during the past few months, and Comcast is still hiring, with more than 500 positions currently open for technicians, direct sales and customer service agents.
"Unlike the phone companies which are touting products that are still not available, all three of these services are real and available from Comcast today. Our competitors simply cannot match the combination of our speeds, content, quality and pricing," added Germano. "Additionally, we have innovative enhancements in the works that will allow for seamless interaction between each service, as well as a fourth product -- wireless telephone service from Sprint that is expected to be available in 2007."
Consumers who sign up for the promotion will receive Comcast Digital Voice, Digital Cable with ON DEMAND and Comcast High Speed Internet service for $33 each for a 12-month period with no contract required. Existing customers with one or two services can also sign up for the services they don't have for $33 each per month for 12 months if they become a three service customer.
Some of the many benefits customers will receive include:
Digital Cable with On Demand
Approximately 100 channels along with Comcast's interactive TV guide, access to more than 3,600 video on demand programs, more than 170 free movies, local content, popular features like Karaoke ON DEMAND and Exercisetv ON DEMAND, specials and much more.
