First Channel Broadcast Entirely in Cantonese Now Available On KyLinTV: Chinese IPTV Service Presents TVS

PLAINVIEW, N.Y., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- KyLinTV has just rolled-out Guangdong Southern Television (TVS), the first channel in China to broadcast entirely in Cantonese, as part of the largest selection of Chinese entertainment in North America: 26 live broadcast channels and a vast video library that offers subscribers more than 20,000 hours of choice.

TVS, launched in July of 2004, is a channel dedicated to serving the Cantonese population of the world. TVS brings Cantonese viewers all types of different programs ranging in topic from history and culture to social issues in China to entertainment and news information.

An extremely popular TV comedy series on TVS, "City Joke Team" breaks away from the traditional type of TV comedy series in China. "City Joke Team" is an improvisational comedy block featuring acts about the latest and hottest topics in China. Another popular program on TVS is "Security Line," a series about true crimes and police investigations in China which reports on some of the biggest criminal cases.

The addition of TVS to the KyLinTV broadcast lineup brings more choices for KyLinTV subscribers in the Cantonese American Community which accounts for about one third of the Chinese population in North America. TVS top rated programs will add to the more than 600 hours of on demand titles available to KyLinTV subscribers in the original dialect as part of an ongoing effort to expand KyLinTV content offerings for all parts of the North American Chinese community.

Other top-rated shows found on TVS include "Seeking Secrets of China," a program that looks at the history and heritage of Guangdong to help Cantonese people explore and understand where they came from and "Fashion and Style," a program about the latest fashion styles and trends in China.

"I am so happy that KyLinTV now has TVS," said Thanh Ly, a KyLinTV subscriber from Virginia. "As a KyLinTV subscriber and a native Cantonese speaker, I am really happy of KyLinTV's expansion into an all-Cantonese speaking channel."

KyLinTV subscribers will have direct access to the most popular broadcasts from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In addition, KyLinTV will broadcast US Chinese channels with programs produced exclusively for North American consumers.

Viewers can tune in to live broadcast channels on KyLinTV and watch the programs as they air. If they miss the program they wanted to watch, subscribers have the option of using the broadcast channel companion which preserves the lineup of news and entertainment programs for 24 hours, and is a feature that is unique to KyLinTV. In addition, KyLinTV subscribers can take advantage of the broadcast channel on demand, an exclusive library of the most popular programs from that channel.
