About the Bands
In August 2005, 30 Seconds To Mars released their sophomore album, A Beautiful Lie, on Virgin Records. Metal Edge Magazine named it one of the top 10 albums of the year while Revolver states "...intensity and passion clearly inform the textural hard rock of A Beautiful Lie. Like the band's 2002 self- titled debut, the album boasts echoing riffs, moody bass lines, and strong vocal melodies that evoke a radio-friendly mix of Nine Inch Nails, U2, and the Cure." Touring relentlessly over the last several months, 30 Seconds To Mars most recently completed their first ever headlining tour which sold out across the country. Currently their single, "The Kill" is burning up the radio charts along with getting major video play on both MTV2 and FUSE. 30-Seconds to Mars is Jared Leto (guitar/vocals), Shannon Leto (drums), Tomo Milcevic (guitar), Matt Wachter (bass).
Southern California's Angels and Airwaves have just celebrated the release of their debut album We Don't Need to Whisper, on Suretone/Geffen Records. Fronted by Blink-182's singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge, this is a totally new group featuring former members of The Distillers, Rocket From the Crypt and DeLonge's side project Box-Car Racer. Angels and Airwaves is Tom DeLonge (guitar/vocals), David Kennedy (guitar), Ryan Sinn (bass) and Atom Willard (drums).
Blue October isn't just your average, everyday rock band from Texas. The group was formed in Houston in the late '90s, and their epic live shows and exploration of subjects like mental depression, drug use, love, betrayal, forgiveness and cathartic transcendence have helped them amass a strong, loyal following through five albums, three of which have been released by Universal Records. Blue October is Justin Furstenfeld (lead guitar/vocals), CB Hudson (guitars/vocals), Ryan Delahoussaye (violin/mandolin/piano/vocals), Matt Noveskey (bass/vocals), Jeremy Furstenfeld (drums/vocals).
Formed in Los Angeles several years ago the glam-inspired IMA ROBOT makes their own brand of hook-laden modern rock music. Their as-yet-untitled new release, their second full length CD, is due out on Geffen Records in August '06. IMA ROBOT is Alex Ebert (vocals), Timmy the Terror (guitar, flutes), Justin Meldal-Johnsen (bass), Filip Niolic a.k.a. Turbotito (keys, guitar), Scott Devours (drums).
Also calling Suretone/Geffen Records home, Nashville's The Pink Spiders' major label debut Teenage Graffiti is a fevered, luminous record of rock and roll escapades. It was produced by legendary Cars front man Ric Ocasek and mixed by whiz Tom Lord-Alge. The Pink Spiders are Matt Friction (vocals/guitar), Jon Decious (bass), Bob Ferrari (drums).
Hailing from Jacksonville, FL, newcomers The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will see their debut CD Don't You Fake It, featuring the single "Face Down," released by Virgin Records on July 18th. You can see the band on the Warped Tour this summer and featured on MTV in a "You Hear It First" piece airing on the network now. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is Ronnie Winter (lead vocals), Elias Reidy (guitar, vocals), Duke Kitchens (guitar, vocals), Joey Westwood (bass, vocals), Jon Wilkes (drums, vocals).
