Emergency Vets Returns to Animal Planet With a New Flock of Interns
- Veterinary School Graduates Go to Alameda East to Learn From Some of the Best -
PASADENA, Calif., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Loyal EMERGENCY VETS viewers have followed the triumphs and tribulations of the talented staff at the Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver on Animal Planet for years. The distinguished physicians of Alameda East - Drs. Robert Taylor, Holly Knor, and Kevin Fitzgerald - have seen it all and regularly face life-and-death decisions about their animal patients. Now they are going to challenge and guide a new generation of veterinary interns selected to be part of the veterinary hospital's residency program in THE E-VETS INTERNS. This new series will debut in the Spring of 2007.
The half-hour series follows six interns fresh out of veterinary school - Blair Willman, David Gall, Eric Anderson, Heather Hadley, Kevin Drygas, Shana O'Mara - and a seventh intern, Michelle Nanfelt, who is participating in a surgical residency. The interns are faced with tough decisions that can mean the difference between saving and losing a patient, but they have the latest in veterinary technology on their side as well the guidance of experienced doctors.
"One of the most extraordinary aspects of THE E-VETS INTERNS is how the show conveys the dedication of the vets at Alameda East to their patients," said Maureen Smith, executive vice president and general manager, Animal Planet. "These interns are so lucky to be mentored by three remarkable vets. With only 27 veterinary schools in the country, it is a very competitive field, and animal lovers everywhere are fortunate to have such bright individuals as future vets."
High Noon is producing THE E-VETS INTERNS. Graham Clark is the executive producer for High Noon. Jason Carey is the executive producer for Animal Planet.
