AccessIT Passes 500th Deployment in Its Digital Cinema Rollout; Records Virtual Print Fees for Over 1,200 Screen Bookings Through June

MORRISTOWN, N.J., July 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Posting another significant milestone in the motion picture industry's on-going transition to digital cinema, Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. ("AccessIT") (NASDAQ: AIXD) announced today it has installed 534 digital systems at 70 theater sites in 21 states as of June 30. Reflecting the steady increase in digitally- equipped screens and major summer film releases in digital format, the company said it has recorded revenues year-to-date from more than 1,200 virtual print fees billed to seven studios for digital presentations on Christie/AIX equipment, most in the June quarter.

Commenting on the dual achievement, Bud Mayo, chairman and CEO of AccessIT, said, "It's working. These numbers dramatically underscore the soundness of our business model and our ability to execute on our plan. Going forward, they should continue to rise, driven by the accelerating pace of digital system deployments to meet our goal of 4,000 installations by October 2007, as well as the major studios' commitments to provide 100 percent of their wide-release movies in digital by that time."

AccessIT's Christie/AIX digital cinema 4,000-screen deployment plan has, to date, installed digital systems at six exhibitors including Carmike Cinemas, Rave Motion Pictures, Emagine, UltraStar, Galaxy Theatres and Cinetopia, which have made commitments for approximately 3,000 screens. Over the next six months, based on currently published release schedules, exhibitors are ensured an increasing variety of content to book for their digitally-equipped theaters.

Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AccessIT) is the industry leader in providing fully integrated software and services to enable the motion picture entertainment industry and all of its constituents to transition from film to digital cinema. Its studio-backed 4,000 screen ongoing deployment of digital systems is the first and the largest of its kind in the world. The company's Theatrical Distribution System software and electronic satellite delivery services provide studios and content owners with a seamless entry into the digital era while its vendor neutral Theatre Command Center and Exhibitor Management System provide exhibitors with all the tools needed to transition to digital cinema.
