Verizon Wireless Customers Can Get Their Platinum and Gold Music How They Want: V CAST Music, Ring Tones or Ringback Tones

Black Eyed Peas, Chamillionaire, D4L and T-Pain Reach Multi-Platinum Status on Mobile Phones

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of the announcement from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) unveiling a certification program for ring tones today, Verizon Wireless is releasing its list of V CAST Music songs, Ringback Tones and ring tones that meet the Multi- Platinum, Platinum and Gold guidelines.

John Harrobin, vice president of marketing of Verizon Wireless, said, "Verizon Wireless has led the way with mobile music, starting with ring tones and Ringback Tones -- which the company launched more than a year ago -- and V CAST Music. We offer our customers not only these chart-topping songs, but music across genres from major labels and independent music providers. Our diverse customer base enjoys discovering new music and artists, and artists view V CAST Music, Ringback Tones and ring tones as one of the fastest and most effective ways to get their music from the studio into the hands of fans."

Verizon Wireless customers can get the type of music they want, when they want it -- and whether they want to download a full song or customize their phone with a Ringback Tone or ring tone, they can choose from a broad selection of music to fit their very own personal styles.

V CAST Music from Verizon Wireless gives customers access to thousands of artists and more than a million songs and lets them play music on their wireless phones -- the same device they have come to rely upon for entertainment, information and mobile communication. V CAST Music lets customers browse, preview, download and play high-quality digital music from their phones or online in the Verizon Wireless V CAST Music Store. V CAST Music songs cost as little as $0.99 if purchased from a Windows XP(R) PC or as little as $1.99 if purchased and downloaded over the air onto a V CAST Music- enabled phone.

Verizon Wireless customers can also download and purchase Ringback Tones and ring tones right from their Get It Now(R)-enabled handsets. Customers can choose from several ring tone applications, including VZW Tones Deluxe that also gives them access to the catalog of more than 10,000 Ringback Tones and ring tones right on their phone.
