Caron Treatments Centers Hosts 11th Annual New York City Gala

NEW YORK, June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Caron Treatment Centers, one of the nation's oldest and largest addiction treatment providers, held on Tuesday, June 13th its 11th Annual New York City Gala at Harry Cipriani's landmark Cipriani 42nd Street. The gala, emceed by actor Charles Grodin, honored legendary President of Network Development and Co-Founder of MTV Networks, John Sykes.

John Sykes was presented with The Caron Treatment Centers NYC Award of Excellence for his longstanding support of a wide variety of philanthropies, including founding the VH1 "Save the Music" program to raise awareness of the importance of music education in public schools. Co-Chairpersons for the event included Peter Boyle, Matthew Broderick, Ann Dexter-Jones, Matt Dillon, Denis Leary, Bill Powers & Cynthia Rowley, Barry Sternlicht, Mr. and Mrs. Varvatos and the Ziff Family. Felicia Taylor, Matt Dillon, Judy Collins and Gavin DeGraw were among the notable guests in attendance. The event included a musical performance by Ben Vereen and a silent auction.

The event, featuring a surprise performance by Gavin DeGraw, raised $800,000 that will go towards adolescent treatment scholarships program funding at the Caron New York Recovery Center in Manhattan. The Caron Treatment Centers Scholarships are among the few scholarships available for addiction recovery for adolescents.
