Leading In-Room Entertainment Company Signs HD Programming Agreement With Showtime

DENVER, June 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On Command Video Corporation, a leading provider of in-room interactive entertainment for the hotel industry and its guests, announced today that it has reached agreement with Showtime Networks to broadcast SHOWTIME HD to hotel rooms.

"Our Showtime agreement enables us to expand our HD offering, which already includes all available off-air broadcast channels, nine studios and seven premium satellite channels," said Tad Walden, senior vice president of marketing and programming for On Command. "With HD content beginning to make a presence in hotel rooms it is important that we provide hotel guests the largest variety of HD programming available."

This agreement paves the way for On Command to provide HBO, SHOWTIME and STARZ high definition channels to the lodging industry. These premium channels join the current line-up, which include HDNet, HDNet Movies, Discovery HD Theater, Universal HD, TNT HD, ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD.

As more and more hotels adopt flat panel televisions for in-room use, the company believes additional premium HD network choices will give hotels opportunities to differentiate their guests' television experience. In addition to On Command's HD VOD movie offering, guests will be able to enjoy high quality, award-winning original programming like "The Sopranos" and "Entourage" on HBO HD, and "Weeds" and "Huff" on SHOWTIME HD, in crystal clear, high definition format.
