PA Governor Rendell to Present 2006 Governor's Awards for the Arts
Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell will present the 2006 Governor's Awards for the Arts at 6:45 p.m., June 20, at The F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre.
Awards will be presented to master artist Nelson Shanks of Bucks County and Tony Award-winning film and theatrical designer Santo Loquasto, a native of Wilkes-Barre. Gospel legends The Dixie Hummingbirds of Philadelphia, Marlene O. "Linny" Fowler of Bethlehem, Dr. Vernell A. Lillie of Pittsburgh and the Bradford County Regional Arts Council will also be receiving awards. [Note: Sayre Area School District will also be recognized for its ongoing commitment to arts in education in its work with residency artists].
