Atlanta Entertainment Company to Produce Innovative, Interactive Gay-Themed Comedy Show

"Laugh Out" Pilot to Feature Veteran Actor Leslie Jordan, Legendary Drag Diva "Lady Bunny" and Atlanta Street Performer "Baton Bob"

"Virtual Casting Call" to Decide Future Cast Members and Content

ATLANTA, May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Already home to thousands of gays and lesbians, Atlanta will soon be home to a cutting-edge, gay-themed comedy show. The program, called Laugh Out(R) (www.LaughOut.com) is the debut offering from WooHoo! Entertainment, the newly formed entertainment division of Atlanta- based Creaxion(R) (pronounced "creation") one of city's top marketing firms.

Laugh Out is the brainchild of WooHoo! Entertainment's chief creative officer Mark Pettit who will oversee all aspects of the show.

"Think 'MAD TV' with a gay twist," says Pettit. "Laugh Out is a unique blend of professional and viewer-created comedy that comes to life right before your very eyes," said Pettit. "You can be watching the show one minute and starring in it the next."

Laugh Out will feature a core cast of comedians who appear in scripted and improvisational sketches that parody celebrities, current events, television programs, commercials and music videos. Special guest hosts and stars will join in on the fun each week.

Three well-known actor/comedians and a popular street performer from Atlanta will be featured in the very first episode of Laugh Out, the television show.

Leslie Jordan will be the first guest host of Laugh Out. One of the most popular character actors in Hollywood, Jordan has appeared in more than 30 television series and starred in a number of films. Jordan is best-known as "Beverly Leslie," the arch-nemesis of "Karen" on NBC's "Will & Grace."

Lady Bunny, the world-renowned Drag Diva will be the first special guest star on Laugh Out. As the creator of "Wigstock," she has entertained thousands of New Yorkers on Labor Day for more than 20-years. Today, she's a successful comedienne, emcee, singer, songwriter and actress. Bunny's glitzy outfits, sky-high hair-dos and potty-mouthed parody medleys will have Laugh Out viewers howling.

Shirley Q. Liquor, another world-famous drag performer and comedian will appear in cartoon form in the initial episode of Laugh Out.

Baton Bob, a colorful street performer from Atlanta, known for his fabulous outfits and twirling abilities, will also make an appearance on the pilot episode of Laugh Out.

"We're very excited to have Leslie, Lady Bunny, Shirley Q. Liquor and Baton Bob in the pilot episode of Laugh Out," said Pettit. "They're all very popular in the gay community and should have great cross-over appeal to mainstream viewers."

A "Virtual Casting Call" is now underway to find original cast members for the Laugh Out television show. Undiscovered and up-and-coming singers and songwriters will also be recruited to perform on the show.

From time to time, "Virtual Cast Members" will be selected to appear on the program. Those hoping to showcase their talents will be encouraged to submit their ideas (videos, photographs, songs, etc.) to the producers of Laugh Out via the show's website. Cast members, producers and fans of Laugh Out will vote on viewer submissions.

* The best viewer-created content -- and in some cases the creators themselves -- will appear on the show and be paid for their work.

Portions of the hour-long pilot episode of Laugh Out were recently shot before a live studio audience in Atlanta at Studio 750 at Magick Lantern, one of the city's top production facilities. The Laugh Out set was designed by Guy Tuttle and the team at Special Projects, one of the premier set design companies in the country. Pettit, a former Emmy award-winning television newscaster and author, turned marketing pro, songwriter and funnyman wrote and directed the pilot episode of Laugh Out. Todd Schaffer, a well-known director and producer served as assistant director and managed the overall production of the show.

Once the pilot episode of Laugh Out is completed, Pettit says the show will be pitched and hopefully sold to a potential television network, cable or broadband channel partner. Eventually he envisions fans being able to enjoy episodes of Laugh Out on their televisions, computers, laptops and iPods -- whenever and wherever they want a good laugh.

"Television and broadband channels are starving for original programming - - especially comedy related content," said Pettit. "We think we've got a great concept and hopefully someone will agree and pick up the show."
