VH1 Announces Rick Beispel As Senior Vice President, National Advertising Sales
NEW YORK, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Rick Beispel has been named Senior Vice President, National Advertising Sales, VH1 it was announced today by Tom Calderone, General Manager, VH1 and Hank Close, Executive Vice President, Ad Sales, Music and Comedy Group, MTVN to whom he reports.
In his new role, Beispel will continue to lead the VH1 sales team in the new convergent world of multimedia, developing creative high-value multiplatform solutions. In addition, Beispel will oversee the further development of a customer focused in category-driven sales team that focuses on high-gain activities.
Working closely with VH1 General Manager Tom Calderone and the entire VH1 ad sales team, Beispel will reinforce the strength and value of the VH1 brand to the advertising community. VH1 recently posted its highest rated show in the channel's history and its highest number of streams on its broadband entertainment network VSPOT.

Before joining VH1, Beispel served as Vice President, New Business Development, MTV. While there Beispel oversaw the department's category development and strategic accounts surpassing revenue goals for the network each year. Beispel was also responsible for creating custom MTV 360 programs for a variety of key clients in major categories.
From 1998 until 2001 Beispel spent three years at Broadcast.com/Yahoo where he was responsible for evangelizing new media and streaming media marketplace to traditional advertisers.
Prior to that, Beispel spent 13 years at the New York Times Magazine Group where his career path evolved from account executive to publisher of Tennis magazine and Snow Country magazine.
Beispel graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
