'Dime Piece' Launches New Motown Imprint Can I Ball Records, First Single From Cannon's Much Anticipated Album 'Stages'
NEW YORK, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Already recognized as one of the entertainment industry's most versatile stars, you can now add #1 Most Added to Nick Cannon's list of accolades. The prolific performer scores this week with the #1 "Most Added Record" at both urban mainstream and rhythm crossover radio formats with his new song, "Dime Piece." The breakthrough song is the first single from Cannon's upcoming album, Stages, due in stores later this spring and kicks off his new Universal Motown label, Can I Ball Records.
The CD title Stages, says Cannon, "represents the various stages it took to get here, the performance stage, the stages of my career, and now this new stage of controlling my growth as an artist -- so it truly reflects every direction that I want to go in." The new disc written and produced by Cannon himself includes the production talents of superstar Kanye West on the up-tempo "My Wife." Other songs include, "Priceless" and "She's Mine" featuring Boscoe and E-40. Cannon has also worked with several music artists on past projects, including R. Kelly, Lil Romeo, and B2K, among others.
The California native is the creator, director and host of the #1 rated show in cable television -- the sketch-inspired MTV's Nick Cannon Presents Wild'n Out. Cannon's meteoric rise includes his star-making turn on Nickelodeon's award winning The Nick Cannon Show, as well as a breakout role in the 2002 movie Drumline. Cannon is currently starring in three soon-to-be-released movies, the Emilio Estevez directed RFK assassination pic Bobby, the highly anticipated animated film Monster House, and the gritty indie release Weapons.
He's also the purveyor of his own multi-million dollar clothing line, PNB Nation, and most recently signed a much heralded deal with Motown Records to launch Can I Ball Records to deliver an arsenal of new artists, as well as his own albums.
Nick Cannon is kicking off a promo tour on March 5th in Miami Fl. He will also visit cities, Orlando, Atlanta, DC, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and more to follow in search of his next female co-star for his next music video.
