People In Planes First Full U.S. Tour Approaches - Kicks Off at SXSW

NEW YORK, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Buzzing Wind-up Records group People In Planes will launch their first major U.S. tour in support of their debut album -- As Far As The Eye Can See ... -- which will be released March 28th. The band will kick off the excursion across the States headlining Billboard Magazine's SXSW Showcase in Austin, TX. The show is scheduled for Thursday, March 16th at midnight at the Dirty Dog Bar (505 East 6th St.).

Following their performance at SXSW, the band will embark on a national tour with Blue October that will pass through many U.S. cities, including stops in: Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Denver, and Tulsa, followed by a West Coast run. The first leg of the U.S. People In Planes tour will wind up back in Austin, TX on April 21st.

Lead guitarist Pete Roberts shared his thoughts on the upcoming dates: "A lot of the amazing word of mouth we've been receiving so far has been from music fans coming to see us live. We can't wait to get back to the States, travel across the whole country and physically be around when the album is released."

The band's first single "If You Talk Too Much (My Head Will Explode)," has gotten off to a fast start at modern rock radio by becoming No. 1 on the R&R New & Active chart this week. Oscar-nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix recently directed the debut video for People In Planes.

People In Planes' sound has been described as "richly atmospheric." Billboard Magazine recently commented on the band's debut single, saying, "People In Planes carries a cargo of atmospheric post-Radiohead riff-rock, rubbing shoulders with fellow U.K. acts Snow Patrol and Muse. It is a burst of brilliance, beautifully balanced, that will strike a sensitive nerve with rock radio."

The band was last seen in the U.S. in January performing to a capacity crowd at the Mercury Lounge in New York City and at private events for Spin Magazine and The Fader. For more information on People In Planes: http://www.peopleinplanes.com/
