TORINO, Italy, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- An historic announcement was made today by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) who, partnering with Narrowstep(TM) Inc, (BULLETIN BOARD: NRWS) -- the TV on the Internet Company, officially launched a new 24-hour broadband TV channel: Paralympicsport.tv. This means that for the first time ever, worldwide coverage of all sports of the Paralympic Winter Games is secured.

With the new channel, the IPC expects to broadcast over 100 hours coverage from the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, including live coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, plus all four sports of Alpine Skiing, Ice Sledge Hockey, Nordic Skiing and Wheelchair Curling. Additionally, a daily highlights package with the best performances from the previous days' competitions will be available.

IPC's worldwide partners, Samsung and Visa, are the first presenting sponsors to sign up with Paralympicsport.tv, and will have advertising banners together with scheduled TV advertising slots around the programming on the channel.

Clifford Webb, Chief Operating Officer of Narrowstep, said, "We're delighted to partner with the IPC in creating this exciting opportunity which will dramatically increase the coverage of Paralympic sports. Now more people than ever before will be able to view the outstanding performances of these athletes, supported by a top quality, commercially successful online broadcast platform."

Narrowstep's Television Operating System (TelVOS(TM)) means the channel can offer a 24-hour schedule, on-demand programming, highlights and live events, all at top quality up to 1800kbs. A searchable "Paralympic Archive" will also feature historical footage from various Paralympics and other competitions within the channel.

Paralympicsport.tv is the result of a partnership between the IPC, Narrowstep and Hamburg based marketing agency brand stage GmbH, designed to establish the channel as a global media platform after the Games, for the enormous Paralympic sporting community, providing access to images from a broad range of competitions around the world. Narrowstep's subsidiary Sportshows Television Ltd will become the 'Preferred Partner' for all IPC TV production as a part of this agreement.

Paralympicsport.tv becomes fully operational today with archive footage, and will broadcast the Paralympic Games between March 10-19.
