The Los Angeles Film School and The Los Angeles Recording School Acquire New Property on Sunset Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The owners of The Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) and The Los Angeles Recording School (LARS) have just announced the acquisition of the property at 6353 Sunset Blvd. adding over 100,000 square feet of facility, for a total of 230,000 square feet, to expand the schools and enhance the leading educational offerings provided to its students.
The property at 6353 Sunset Blvd. is directly adjacent to the historic building at 6363 Sunset Blvd. (formerly RCA Records), a property that was acquired by the schools' owners in December of 2004 where LAFS currently operates. LARS is located at 6690 Sunset Blvd, just three blocks away.
The newly acquired six-story building was originally a regional headquarters and showroom of Mercedes-Benz and most recently, a home to Klasky-Csupo, a premier computer animation firm responsible for production work ranging from "The Simpsons" to the "Rugrats."
The owners of LAFS and LARS include the principals of Full Sail Real World Education, a world-renowned, 5,000-student entertainment-media college in Orlando, Florida. They teamed up with Diana Derycz-Kessler and Paul Kessler in 2003, who were the owners of LAFS at that time, to form the partnership that exists today.
Diana Derycz-Kessler, who serves as the Film and Recording School's Chief Executive Officer, says, "The building acquisition not only represents our ability and willingness to expand in an effort to provide superior education, but this extraordinary building offers a remarkably creative and artistic environment. It truly captures the spirit of our institutions."
Chief Operating Officer Darren Millar says, "This is such an exciting step for us not only to significantly impact our current student offerings, but we are also looking forward to the expansion of our programs to include other curricula within the digital arts genre. We have a very bright future ahead of us."
The Los Angeles Film School and The Los Angeles Recording School are nationally accredited institutions by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) and the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), respectively.
