KyLinTV Launches Duowei Original Content on IPTV

PLAINVIEW, N.Y., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- KyLinTV, Inc. today announced a content partnership with Chinese Media Net, Inc. that will bring exclusive original programming to the IPTV subscription service. Based in Great Neck, NY, Chinese Media Net is a multimedia news organization best known for the weekly newspaper Duowei Times, and extensive www.ChineseNewsNet.com news service. Duowei broadcast programs on KyLinTV include news magazines, profiles of celebrity Chinese personalities and documentary programs that highlight the experiences of Chinese-Americans.

A sampling of the first Duowei titles available on KyLinTV include, "Dream Catcher," a true story of the American dream realized by a Chinese family that immigrated to the United States, and the dilemmas that they faced returning to China many years later. "Mao: The Unknown Story" features an in-depth interview with the controversial author, Jung Chang, whose widely publicized book raises new questions and the role of Mao Zedong. "China Youth Hockey at North America" follows two youth hockey teams from the Heilongjiang province as they visit the United States and Canada for the first time, representing China in international competition.

"We are always looking for the best programming for our subscribers and we are really excited about the content that Duowei is bringing to KyLinTV. Their programs will cover topics that are specifically geared toward the Chinese community living here in the states, and you just can't find that anywhere else," said Nancy Li, Chief Executive Officer of KyLinTV.

Mingdi Yang, Executive Vice President of Chinese Media Net added, "KyLinTV is the way of the future and this is a great opportunity for Duowei to be a part of this new media. IPTV delivers broadcast content anywhere, anytime to any television and it is an ideal way to reach the more than 3 million Chinese households in North America who will be interested in our unique programs."

Duowei programs will be available to KyLinTV subscribers for FREE during the pilot phase. Duowei will add four new titles each week to the VOD library. Coming soon to KyLinTV, Duowei productions will investigate how to select the best college for Chinese-American students and the unique considerations in choosing a nursing home or elder care facility for aging family members in the Chinese-American community.
