Paul Walker Hosts Exclusive Look at Walt Disney Pictures' 'Eight Below' and Evening of Cold-Climate Flicks

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul Walker ("2 Fast 2 Furious," "The Fast and the Furious") brings a big chill to Starz Kids & Family as he hosts a night of cold-climate flicks Thursday, February 16. The evening features an exclusive look at his latest project, Walt Disney Pictures' new action-adventure film "Eight Below" a day before it comes out in theaters across the nation.

Inspired by true events, "Eight Below" tells the story of three members of a scientific expedition -- Jerry Shepard (Walker), his best friend, Cooper (Jason Biggs), and a rugged American geologist (Bruce Greenwood), who are forced to leave behind their team of beloved sled dogs due to a sudden accident and perilous weather conditions in Antarctica. During the harsh Antarctic winter, the dogs must struggle for survival alone in the intense frozen wilderness for more than 6 months until the adventurers can mount a rescue mission.

The cold front comes to Starz Kids & Family at 6:00 p.m. (ET/PT) Thursday, February 16. Walker introduces exclusive footage and trailers from "Eight Below" throughout the evening and the chill continues with the following programming (all times are ET/PT):

* "On the Set: Eight Below" (6:00 p.m.) -- A behind-the-scenes look at
the making of the film "Eight Below" featuring interviews with
Walker, Biggs and Greenwood.

* "Into Thin Air: Death on Everest" (6:20 p.m.) -- An adaptation of Jon
Krakhauer's best selling book, this movie recreates the disastrous
events that took place on Mount Everest during an expedition in 1996
when a blizzard killed several climbers. The film co-stars Peter
Horton, Christopher McDonald, Nathaniel Parker, Richard Jenkins and
Tim Dutton.

* "Alaska" (8:00 p.m.) -- The story of a 13 year-old boy and his
9 year-old sister who journey into the Alaskan wilderness to rescue
their father, whose plane has crashed. Thora Birch, Vincent
Kartheiser, Dirk Benedict and Charlton Heston co-star.

* "The Snow Walker" (9:50 p.m.) -- Based on the short story "Walk Well My
Brother" by Farley Mowat, this is the tale of two people struggling for
survival against the harsh elements of the infinite Canadian arctic.
The film co-stars Barry Pepper, Annabella Piugattuk, James Cromwell
and Kiersten Warren.
