NBA TV Begins Countdown to NBA All-Star 2006 With 18 of the Greatest All-Star Games

NEW YORK, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- NBA TV, the league's 24-hour television network, will begin its countdown to NBA All-Star 2006 in Houston by airing 18 of the greatest All-Star Games starting Monday, Feb. 6. NBA legends Jerry West, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and Miami Heat star Shaquille O'Neal will be among the All-Stars taking the floor during this 10-day marathon, which will feature the greatest names from the past 35 years at the annual midseason classic. The marathon also will include the 1976 ABA All-Star Game in Denver when Julius Erving of the New York Nets mesmerized the nation with his performance in the Slam Dunk Contest.

Monday, Feb. 6
1:00 p.m. ET: NBA All-Star 1970, Philadelphia, East defeats West, 142-135

The Royals' Oscar Robertson becomes the then career All-Star scoring leader (230) with 21- point outing.

3:00 p.m. ET: NBA All-Star 1972, Los Angeles, West defeats East, 112-110

The Lakers' Jerry West hits last second 20-foot jump shot on the run to give the West the victory.

Tuesday, Feb. 7
1:00 p.m. ET: NBA All-Star 1975, Phoenix, East defeats West, 108-102

The Knicks' Walt Frazier leads all-scorers with a 30-point MVP performance.

Wednesday, Feb. 8
1:00 p.m. ET: NBA All-Star 1976, Philadelphia, East defeats West, 123-109

The Bullets' Dave Bing proves that he still has the All-Star touch by earning the MVP award.

Thursday, Feb. 9
1:00 p.m. ET: ABA All-Star 1976, Denver, Denver defeats All-Stars, 144-138

The Nets' Julius Erving amazes fans with an unforgettable performance in the Slam Dunk Contest.
