WHY: This private screening of the highly acclaimed film will take
viewers on a culinary tour of Great Impressionist Claude Monet's home
region of Normandy, the region of France just north of Paris along the
Seine River. Filmmaker Aileen Bordman draws the connection between
Monet's artistic talent and his passion for gourmet cuisine. The film
also showcases several famous chefs such as Daniel Boulud, Alice Waters,
and Michel Richard, is narrated by Oscar-award-winning actress Meryl
Streep and includes interviews with Steve Wynn and Joachim Pissarro.

Bordman came to know Monet's culinary tastes through extensive research
as well as by spending a great deal of time at the Musee Claude Monet at
Giverny where her mother, Helen Rappel Bordman, has served as American
Representative and lecturer for more than 25 years.
