Are You Opening Soon? Food Network Series on Look-Out for Intriguing Chefs & Restaurateurs Opening New Restaurants

TORONTO, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Apple Entertainment and the Food Network are launching a North America-wide search for the hottest, most passionate chefs and restaurateurs opening new establishments, to be featured in its top-rated television series Opening Soon. Currently in its fifth season, Opening Soon is a half-hour documentary that takes viewers behind the scenes to experience the high-pressure excitement of launching a new restaurant.

"We are looking for new restaurants bursting with personality to profile in future episodes of Opening Soon," says Daniel Gelfant, Producer, Opening Soon. "Personality comes from the people, the food and the establishment itself and in our opinion this is what makes great television, as well as a successful restaurant."

Over the past five years, Opening Soon has captured the real-life ambitions of restaurateurs, chefs and designers from the North West Territories to Nashville as they negotiate the rollercoaster challenges of opening a new restaurant.

Rachel Low, President of Red Apple Entertainment adds that Opening Soon offers viewers a unique window into what happens behind the scenes, not only in regards to the superstar chefs, but also to the smaller entrepreneurs who are putting their hearts, and often their life savings, on the line. "We know that compelling story-telling lies not only in the big names or big events such as opening night but also in the personal stories of our chefs and restaurateurs that unfold with each episode."

"It was a wonderful opportunity to be featured on The Food Network," says Didier Leroy of DIDIER Restaurant & Catering in Toronto. "A great deal of attention and excitement was created as a direct result of our Opening Soon episode and we continue to receive guests who have seen the show. As well, the crew was professional and patient during some extremely stressful situations, and cared about what was happening. Only good has come to DIDIER from our experience."

Opening Soon has documented the openings of some of North America's most prestigious restaurants as well as some of its most intriguing smaller establishments. Over the years, chefs such as Michael Mina (San Francisco), Geoffrey Zakarian (New York), Todd English (New York), Susur Lee (Toronto), Marc Thuet (Toronto) and Mark McEwan (Toronto) have been featured on the show.

Restaurateurs, chefs or designers interested in being featured on the show should email Red Apple Entertainment at openingsoon@redapple.com.
