Accomplished Banker Sings a Different Tune at Carnegie Hall on November 21
Morgan Stanley Executive and Gospel Recording Artist Carla Harris to Hold a Special Performance to Benefit Harlem and Florida School Children
NEW YORK, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ --
Who: Carla Harris, a managing director at Morgan Stanley and one of
Fortune Magazine's "50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate
America," is an accomplished gospel singer who has recorded two
successful albums, "Carla's First Christmas" and "Joy is Waiting."
Ms. Harris has also been named one of "The 50 Women Who Are Shaping
the World" by Essence Magazine and is the recipient of the 2005
Harvard College Women's Professional Achievement Award.
All proceeds from the albums benefit the children of St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic School in Harlem and Bishop Kenny High School in
Jacksonville, Florida. Through the sale of her records and the
Carnegie Hall performance, Ms. Harris aims to raise $250,000 for St.
Charles to develop math and science programs and $250,000 to endow a
scholarship fund at Bishop Kenny.
What: Ms Harris is making her debut performance at Carnegie Hall with The
Voices of the Spirit Choir under the direction of W. Mark Howell.
Ms. Harris has previously performed at the Apollo Theater and Alice
Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.
