VSA arts International Young Soloist Makes Debut at Toronto Symphony Orchestra

WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- VSA arts, an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, takes pride in announcing that Adrian Anantawan, winner of the 2002 VSA arts Rosemary Kennedy International Young Soloist Award is making his debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, November 12, 2005.

This brilliant young violinist is best remembered in Washington for his performance with famed Irish Tenor, Ronan Tynan, on the Kennedy Center's Concert Hall stage opening the 2004 VSA arts International Festival. Today, the 22 year old Canadian native who began violin training at the age of nine, is the winner of many national music honors and considers the VSA arts Young Soloists award a "crowning achievement."

His awards include: the Roy Thomson Hall 1st Prize in the 2005 National Piano Concerto Competition considered a "launch pad" for some of Canada's greatest young artists. Anantawan was born without a right hand and is a spokesperson for the CHAMP (Child Amputee Program of War Amps Canada.)
