Gray Television, Inc. Acquires WVAG-TV, Moultrie, Georgia
ATLANTA, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gray Television, Inc. (NYSE:GTN) today announced that it has acquired the assets of WVAG-TV in Moultrie, Georgia from P. D. Communications, LLC for $3.75 million in cash.
WVAG-TV is the UPN affiliate serving the Albany, Georgia television market and the nation's 147th largest Designated Market Area with approximately 150,000 television households.
Gray Television, Inc. is a communications company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to WVAG-TV, Gray currently owns 31 television stations serving 27 television markets including 16 CBS affiliates, eight NBC affiliates and seven ABC affiliates. Gray also currently operates six UPN stations in six of its existing television markets using a portion of its digital broadcast spectrum. Gray has 23 stations ranked #1 in local news audience and 22 stations ranked #1 in overall audience within their respective markets based on the average results of the 2004 Nielsen ratings reports. The TV station group reaches approximately 5.5% of total U.S. TV households.
