Christian Music Festival on Aug. 13 - Thousands Expected
Skydiving Organizer Says He Declined an Offer to Appear at Woodstock, But His Team Wouldn't Miss A Chance to Dive into the Music Event of the Summer That is Being Likened to the Christian Woodstock
KINGWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- While top Christian music artists take center stage at Revelation Generation Music Festival, the Fallin' Angels skydiving team will fall 6,000 ft., circling the skies with colorful streamers and landing center field, at about 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 13.
"I thought it was quite appropriate for Fallin' Angels to be a part of Revelation Generation -- after all, it is a Christian music event," said Doug Angel, president of Fallin' Angels, a skydiving demonstration team based in Alexandria Township, N.J.
"I passed up an opportunity to appear at Woodstock in 1969 -- we didn't know what a big deal it was going to be or we would have just stayed and jumped in the mud for a couple of days," added Angel.
With sunny skies in store for the day, the four parachute jumpers entertaining the crowd should be landing on a dry, grassy field. The skydivers, using ram-air, square-shaped parachutes, will free-fall for 25 seconds at 125 miles per hour, and zip through the sky in circles. They will open their parachutes at 2,000 ft.
"Fallin' Angels adds a thrilling component to the Revelation Generation entertainment lineup and there are more surprises planned for throughout the day," says Robert Grom, the event's founder. A hot air balloon and airplanes flying overhead will also entertain crowd.
Top Christian music artists performing at Revelation Generation include Skillet, BarlowGirl, Further Seems Forever, Paul Colman, Katinas and Stellar Kart. Activities feature prayer tents, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, food vendors and book sellers. Visit www.revelationgeneration.org for more information. Event takes place at Revelation Farms, 45 Fitzer Road, Kingwood Township, N.J. from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The sponsors of the first-time Christian music event are the owners of Revelation Farms, Robert and Kim Grom, a husband and wife team who have dedicated their 100-plus acre horse farm to youth events and to raising money for youth-oriented charities. All proceeds from Revelation Generation will be donated to Young Life, a non-profit organization based in Milford, N.J. committed to impacting the lives of children and preparing them for the future.
