The Big Apple will be rockin' on August 12th when Hard Rock International
opens its flagship cafe in the heart of Times Square. Hard Rock Cafe New York
will make its highly anticipated move to the former site of the historic
Paramount Theater at 1501 Broadway.

Rather than the traditional ribbon-cutting, in true "rocker" fashion,
Hard Rock International ceremoniously smashes guitars at the opening of each
new location. To make a little more "noise" in Times Square, the world's
greatest stage, Hard Rock will be celebrating by creating the World's Largest
Guitar Smash. 100 Gibson guitars will be simultaneously smashed outside the
new home of the New York cafe with the assistance of legendary celebrities
including Steven Van Zandt (Sopranos & Bruce Springsteen and the E Street
Band) & Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) and other New York notables like the
Naked Cowboy, The NY Knicks Dancers, MTV VJ's Sway and Damien, as well as
Hard Rock executives.

For each guitar that is smashed, Hard Rock will donate a new guitar to
Peace Games, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the trend of
violence in the U.S. by teaching children to become peacemakers in their
schools and communities.
