everGirl Launches 'Be Heard' Casting Call and Concert Tour for Tween Girls
- Girls Have a Chance to Showcase Their Diverse Talents -
NEW YORK, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The dream of becoming a star may be within reach for some lucky tween girls throughout North America who are hoping to "be heard." everGirl, a lifestyle brand specifically created for tween girls, is launching the "Be Heard" tour, a casting call and music extravaganza. The tour empowers 7-14 year old girls to celebrate their individuality, develop their own unique voices and allow their many talents to shine. Girls have the opportunity to audition for the everGirl band -- while watching live, exciting performances by young, up-and-coming artists.
The tour will rock Paramount Parks in Richmond, VA; Cincinnati, OH; Toronto, ON, CN; and Charlotte, NC this August. Approximately 50 tween girls at each Paramount Parks tour stop will have the chance to audition on stage for the everBand. Tweens can also audition to be part of the everBand via http://www.evergirl.com/, the everGirl brand website. The new everBand members may act as spokespeople for the everGirl product line, be featured in commercials, make in-store appearances and record the 2006 everGirl single.
"everGirl is dedicated to helping young girls live out their individual dreams and to be confident in who they are," said Maureen Taxter, senior vice president of Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, which created the everGirl brand. "The everBand casting call is one way we're giving each tween girl a chance to showcase their creativity and unique talents."
About the everGirl Be Heard Casting Call & Contest
everGirl wants to be sure that every tween girl across the country has the chance to participate in the making of the everBand, even if they cannot attend a live audition. Girls unable to attend the tour events can arrange for their own auditions on http://www.evergirl.com/ and participate by sending in a recording of themselves on VHS tape, DVD or mini-DVD audition. everGirl also recognizes that every girl has an individual set of talents, so even if a girl does not sing, she still has a chance to participate in the everBand. Aspiring songwriters can write the lyrics, aspiring artists can design the everBand logo or CD cover and all girls can submit a new name for the band.
The contest is open to girls 7-14 years old and runs from Aug. 12, 2005 until Sept. 30, 2005. All girls can enter by mail and will need to include their name, address, phone number, birth date, photo, short bio, plus contest piece and legal forms printed from the website. Girls can enter more than one category as long as each entry is sent separately. Online voting will be set up to give girls a voice to "be heard" so all tween girls can participate by voting for their preferred fellow artists, even if they do not personally enter the contest. everGirl representatives and the music label have final winner selection. For more information, including the PO Box address for audition tape mailing and the official contest rules, log onto the "Be Heard" website, http://www.evergirl.com/.
Seven grand prize winners will be selected. Creativity will pay off for the girls whose ideas and designs get selected for the band name, logo, CD cover and /or lyrics. They will get credit on the CD, receive an everGirl prize pack, and be interviewed and featured as a winner on http://www.evergirl.com/.
