Sirenza Microdevices Announces Volume Shipments of Direct Quadrature Modulators for a Major European Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)

BROOMFIELD, Colo., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sirenza Microdevices (NASDAQ:SMDI), a leading designer and supplier of high-performance radio frequency (RF) components for communications equipment manufacturers, today announced that the company has started volume shipments of the STQ-2016-3 direct quadrature modulator to a major European wireless infrastructure OEM for a WCDMA basestation platform.

The STQ-2016-3 is a SiGe HBT based direct quadrature modulator packaged in the industry standard TSSOP-16. Direct conversion architectures allow designers to simplify system-level designs, reduce part counts, and minimize printed circuit board space.
