NEP Broadcasting Appoints Louis A. Borrelli, Jr. CEO
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- NEP Broadcasting, LLC, the leading national provider of outsourced media services critical to the delivery of live sports and entertainment events, announced today that Louis A. Borrelli, Jr. has been named Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.
Mr. Borrelli joins NEP from America Online, Inc. where he was most recently Senior Vice President, Broadband Distribution and Local Promotion. He joined AOL's Broadband business unit in 2001, executing the commercial launch of AOL Broadband and developing distribution partnerships for AOL across the cable television and telecommunications industries.
A leader in the cable television industry for more than 26 years, Mr. Borrelli was a founding partner of Dallas, Texas-based Marcus Cable Company, L.P., serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Under Mr. Borrelli's leadership, Marcus Cable grew to become the nation's largest privately held cable television operator serving nearly 1.3 million customers in 1998 when the company was sold to investor Paul G. Allen. Mr. Borrelli began his cable career with UA-Columbia Cablevision in 1978.
Mr. Borrelli is an active member of Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), twice serving on its Board of Directors as well as chairing the Annual CTAM Summit and the Digital and PPV Conferences. He is an executive member of Women In Cable & Telecommunications (WICT), and a past National Association Of Minorities In Cable (NAMIC) mentor. Mr. Borrelli was active in the formation of the Cable Television Advertising Bureau (CAB) and the National Academy of Cable Programming, its ACE Awards program and was a founding member of the New York Metro Cable Marketing Co-Op (1-800-OK-CABLE).
Mr. Borrelli is a two-time CTAM TAMI award winner (1996 & 2000), received the Pinnacle Award from CTAM Texas in 2001 and was elected to the Cable Pioneers in 2002.
