Front Porch Digital Enhances Market Leading Digital Archive Software With the Release of DIVArchive 5.7
BOULDER, Colo., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Incentra Solutions, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: ICEN) today announced that its Front Porch Digital Broadcast & Media Division released the latest version of its market leading DIVArchive (Distributed Intelligent Versatile Archive) software. The 5.7 release of DIVA offers enhanced integration with leading video server, broadcast control and storage equipment as well as expanded end-user functionality. The 5.7 DIVA release is now available and has been deployed at several customer facilities.
DIVArchive is a robust middleware solution enabling interoperability between multiple tiers of storage devices, video servers, editing systems and digital asset workflow applications in the broadcast, media and entertainment industries. DIVArchive simplifies the process of preserving, managing and accessing content in a reliable, fault tolerant infrastructure.
"As the global market for digital archive continues to grow, broadcasters are requesting new functionality to support increasingly complex workflows," said Michael Knaisch, president of the Front Porch division. "DIVArchive is recognized as a leader in this regard, and our version 5.7 strengthens the Company's position as the best-of-breed archive management provider. We will continue to invest in the product development, testing and validation required to retain the confidence of the world's leading media companies."
Included in DIVA 5.7 are the following new and enhanced features:
* Expanded integration of leading non-linear editing systems allowing
for cost effective storage expansion, sharing of storage
infrastructure, and interoperability with the broadcast server
environment. This supports asset sharing between editing and
broadcast infrastructures including content transcoding.
* Tape Import/Export -- Enables content transport on a tape by tape
basis between unrelated DIVA systems for content protection, mirroring
and disaster recovery applications.
* MetaSource Support -- Enables multiple gateways or "data paths"
to/from storage devices for redundancy and bandwidth aggregation
purposes.
* DIVA Storage Plan Manager (SPM) Configuration Engine -- Allows end
user customization of the DIVA Storage Plans which govern content
workflow, replication, transcoding, migration, etc. in the system.
* New Object Copy -- Allows assets contained within the DIVA
infrastructure to be digitally replicated creating new and unique
objects for repurposing and other applications.
"We continue to expand our development efforts to maintain the superior functionality, interoperability, scalability and reliability that has positioned DIVA as the dominant application in the storage management market," said Brian Campanotti, CTO for Front Porch. "Our experienced technical team and proven development process allows us to continue to add product functionality and expand our interoperability with the leading equipment manufacturers in the broadcast market."
