Entravision Radio to Carry Top-Rated Morning Show 'El Cucuy de la Manana' on its Radio Tricolor Network
Carlos Sanchez Appointed Format Director of the Radio Tricolor Network
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Entravision Radio, a division of Entravision Communications Corporation (NYSE:EVC), announced today that it has begun broadcasting Renan Almendarez Coello's "El Cucuy de la Manana" on Entravision radio stations in 13 markets as affiliates of ABC Radio Networks. Additionally, the company announced that Carlos "Napoleon" Sanchez has been appointed format director of its Radio Tricolor network, effective immediately.
"El Cucuy de la Manana" is one of the highest-rated Spanish-language radio programs in the country. In the Los Angeles, California market, the #1-ranked U.S. Hispanic market, "El Cucuy de la Manana" is the #1-rated morning show in any language among adults 18-34 on Spanish Broadcasting System's flagship KLAX-FM, according to a three-book average of the Spring, Summer and Fall 2004 Arbitron ratings data. Mr. Coello emerged as a bona-fide Spanish-language radio star in the late-1990s and is known for both his witty, comedic banter and his ability to attract support for a variety of causes.
Appointed to oversee the Radio Tricolor network, Mr. Sanchez brings more than 12 years of radio programming experience to his new position. Known to most of his fans as "Napoleon," he recently served more than eight years as a morning show host and program director for KIWI-FM "Radio Lobo," serving the Bakersfield, California market. Prior to joining KIWI-FM, Mr. Sanchez was the program director and morning show host at KLOQ-AM and KWKW-AM, serving the Merced and Los Angeles, California markets, respectively. No stranger to Radio Tricolor, he also worked as on-air talent for the format between 1992 and 1995. Mr. Sanchez will be based at Entravision Radio's headquarters in Los Angeles.
