Eight At Eight Announces South Florida's Worst Pick-Up Lines
Singles Encouraged to Playfully Use Lines at What's Your Sign, Valentine? Party
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. and PALM BEACH, Fla., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Eight at Eight, the Ft. Lauderdale/Palm Beach premier dinner club for single professionals, today announced its selection for the top eight worst pick-up lines ever used:
(1) What's your sign?
(2) Where have you been all my life?
(3) What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?
(4) Do you come here often?
(5) Bond. James Bond.
(6) Are you a parking ticket, `cause you've got "FINE" written all over
you?
(7) If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put "U" and "I" together.
(8) Are you OK? Because heaven's a long fall from here.
As a way to poke fun at today's singles scene and offer singles a way to enjoy Valentine's Day, Eight at Eight is hosting its first Valentine's Day party called What's Your Sign, Valentine? The party will start at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14 at Gatsby's in Boca Raton. The party's theme is cheesy pick-up lines and partygoers are encouraged to break-the-ice with others using one or more of Eight at Eight's top eight worst pick-up lines.
"Yes, cheesy pick-up lines are still being used. And no, singles do not have to put up with it. We want this event to not only be a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day, but also a reminder that professional singles do not have to be subjected to such cheesy introductions. Eight at Eight dinners and special events are non-threatening, and enjoyable. We strive to organize events with a compatible mix of men and women, so that every event is worth it," said Toni Glerum, president and membership director for Eight at Eight.
Like all Eight at Eight events, the What's Your Sign, Valentine? party will provide a fun, comfortable atmosphere, exclusive to professional singles. The event is open to the public and singles will be teamed up with the opposite sex to play pool throughout the night. Prizes will be given to the best smooth talker who uses the pick-up lines throughout the evening.
The cost for Eight at Eight members to attend the event is $14 and non- members can participate for $28. Price includes pool, pizza and beer/wine open bar from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A cash bar will be available after 8:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.
