Brooke Valentine Smashes Onto the Music Scene With Sexy Single 'Girlfight'

Video Featuring Lil Jon & OutKast's Big Boi Starts Immediate Street Buzz; MTV Comes Aboard With Heavy Rotation Out-of-the-Box

Valentine Also Named As One of Six New AOL Music Breaker Artists

NEW YORK, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Subliminal Entertainment/Virgin Records recording artist Brooke Valentine is wasting no time establishing herself as a major new force in the music world. Valentine's debut album, CHAIN LETTER, a heady mix of R&B and pop grooves, will arrive in stores on March 15. Her debut single, "Girlfight," is getting a great reaction at radio stations across the country, but it is the "Girlfight" video -- directed by veteran Chris Robinson (Usher, Destiny's Child) -- that is generating the loudest buzz.

The fun, sexy clip features rap superstars Lil Jon (who produced the track) and OutKast's Big Boi, while at the same time, showcases newcomer Valentine's girlish playfulness and her tough street edge. MTV came to the table quickly, putting the video into immediate heavy rotation on MTV Jams; a 'You Hear It First' MTV News piece will also air this month. BET also premiered the video to an overwhelmingly positive response on their highly rated "106 & Park" program.

In addition, Valentine has just been named one of six new artists in this season's highly selective AOL(R) Music Breakers program. America Online, the world's leading interactive services company, uses the AOL(R) Music Breakers program to provide their vast audience -- more than 18 million music fans a month* -- with early access to the hottest developing artists. In handpicking the most promising new artists to spotlight as Breakers, AOL Music features them in high profile campaigns across the AOL Music Network, including song and video debuts, AOL Music Sessions appearances and rotation on the AOL Radio Network. Past AOL Music Breakers include The Game, John Legend, Avril Lavigne, Josh Groban, 50 Cent and Anthony Hamilton.

A nineteen-year-old native of Houston, Valentine started singing at an early age. She wrote or co-wrote all the songs on her Subliminal/Virgin debut album, CHAIN LETTER. "It was important that this album was an accurate reflection of me," she explains. "We worked with producers who didn't try to change that." Among the list of talented producers are Souldiggaz (Destiny's Child, Missy Elliott), Bloodshy & Avant (Britney Spears, Christina Milian), Heatmakers (Lil Flip) and Bink (Jay-Z). Jermaine Dupri, Virgin's newly appointed President of Black Music, is also in the recording studio collaborating with Valentine on a song that will be included on the album.

The early buzz on Valentine has already landed her coverage in Vibe, Women's Wear Daily and Teen People; look for upcoming coverage in Rolling Stone, Blender and King, among others. Check out music and video clips of Brooke Valentine at http://www.brookevalentine.com/.
