U.S. Department of Justice Awards EDS $74 Million eTravel Task Order

U.S. Department of Justice Awards EDS $74 Million eTravel Task Order

Versatility, Flexibility and Security of EDS' FedTraveler.com Offering Finding Favor Among Larger Government Agencies

PLANO, Texas, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EDS (NYSE:EDS) today announced it has been selected by the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) to provide electronic travel services under the General Services Administration's eTravel Service (eTS) indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract vehicle. The DoJ is the fourth government agency to select EDS' FedTraveler.com service for their travel needs since task orders commenced in June 2004, and is the third largest Federal Department eTS award to date.

The anticipated nine-year, firm fixed-unit price tailored task order contains a 23-month base period with three option periods and is valued at approximately $74 million if all options are exercised fully.

"Given the mission of the Department of Justice, we believe our ability to provide a high degree of security and information assurance, without affecting user functionality, was a key factor in the DoJ selecting FedTraveler.com," said Jim Duffey, vice president, Global Sales and Client Solutions - U. S. Government, for EDS. "We believe FedTraveler.com is gaining momentum as the eTravel service of choice because it's the most flexible and easily tailored with the lowest total cost of ownership of the three competing eTS offerings," said Duffey.

FedTraveler.com is a proven, end-to-end travel service solution designed and built from the ground up by EDS and its teaming partners Zegato Solutions, MIL Corp., Navigant/Sato Travel, Omega World Travel, and National Travel.

FedTraveler.com leverages EDS' extensive commercial and government travel services experience to provide a unique set of management tools to handle planning and authorizing, reservation and fulfillment services, voucher approval, and robust travel card fraud containment, reporting and auditing capabilities. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Science Foundation and the Federal Trade Commission have also chosen EDS to provide eTravel services. The FedTraveler.com service will be implemented across the DoJ over the next 22 months.
