Online Gaming Events Hosted By GameNgame.com Wrap-Up in New York and Los Angeles

Over 400 Gamers Participated in Events, Marking a Successful Launch of New Online Games Developed by Up-and-Coming South Korea-based Companies

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- gameNgame.com (www.gameNgame.com), a new web portal dedicated to promoting MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) based games developed in South Korea, today announced that its recent four day gaming extravaganza, "2004 Happy Christmas LAN Party," wrapped-up with a success, involving over 400 onsite gamers. The event was held in New York City on December 7th and 8th at Web2Zone (www.web2zone.com) game center, and in Los Angeles on December 10th and 11th at Internet PC Cafe (www.internetpccafe.com) game center located in Gardena, Calif. Photos of each event are available.

Throughout the four days of events, participants played games for free, met with the developers, watched game trailers and won a series of giveaways and prizes. Prizes included notebook PCs, MP3 players, video cards, digital cameras, PDAs, Intel Motherboards plus CPUs, and much more.

iPark has also hosted an "Online Game Industry Round Table" in New York and Los Angeles to discuss the state and future of online gaming. Each meeting featured some of the key game-related businesses including Turbine Entertainment Software, iEntertainment Network, K2 Networks, Inc., NCSoft Corporation, and iGames. Discussion topics included the North American game industry market and market forecasts, success and failure factors of currently available online games, and perception of online games developed in Korea and their overall market potential.

"This offline opportunity to meet with gamers proved extremely valuable as we were able to build a dedicated community of enthusiastic fans," said Jeong Soo Kim, Executive Director, Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency. "Based on the tremendous amount of feedback, we were able to study more clearly the needs and expectations of North American players vs. Korean players, and how to better market new games in order for us to succeed in the U.S. We plan to host additional events to cultivate our relationships with fans and gamers and increase mind share for Korea as viable player in the online gaming market."

Launched on November 1 by iPark (www.iparksv.com), www.gameNgame.com has offered full version downloads of four pre-released games including, d.o, Legend of Mir3, Navy Field and Shot-Online with "free" nationwide open play scheduled to run until the end of this year. iPark Silicon Valley, a U.S. business development subsidiary of the Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency (KIPA), is promoting the thriving B2B relationships between South Korea and North America IT leaders.
