RICHFIELD, Ohio, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- OEConnection LLC, a premier provider of web-based supply chain, order management, and data mining and reporting solutions for automotive dealers and collision repairers, is pleased to announce the selection of its D2DLink parts ecommerce tool for the commercial truck service parts operations of Isuzu Motors America, Inc. OEConnection's selection follows Isuzu's successful 2003 U.S. implementation of D2DLink technology for its 300+ light vehicle authorized dealer network. Isuzu will implement D2DLink as a corporate initiative for Isuzu Commercial Truck of America's 200+ medium duty truck dealers with anticipated completion in January 2005. In addition to broader parts visibility within the Isuzu medium truck franchise points, dealers will also be able to search for shared parts availability in D2DLink-subscribing General Motors W, T and C-Series dealer inventories.
D2DLink can help Isuzu commercial truck dealers significantly reduce repair time, enhance customer satisfaction, and increase productivity. Dealers will be able to more successfully locate parts, typically under 1 second; buy and sell parts online with customized advertising messages; view PDC (Parts Distribution Center) availability and MAC (manually allocated) items; reduce phone time and long distance charges; and streamline workflow for multi-franchise parts counters by accessing parts for two or more OEM's from one workstation. In addition, D2DLink will automatically convert Isuzu 10-digit part numbers to 8-digits for cross-reference searches with GM's W, T, and C-series dealer inventories.
Harold Thomas, Vice President, Parts and Accessories of Isuzu Motors, commented, "At Isuzu Motors, we consider customer satisfaction and dealer profitability to be our top priorities. It's our job to find technology that will help achieve both. D2DLink is such a product by allowing our dealers to locate and secure parts faster resulting in reduced vehicle downtime and increased stall utilization. Parts are at the heart of any repair process making D2DLink a truly value-added piece of our dealers' repair process."
Chuck Rotuno, President and CEO of OEConnection, added, "Isuzu Motors continues to be one of our most innovative partners. They have consistently led the commercial truck industry in product design. They also lead the industry with innovation in process. Applying D2DLink technology to all segments of their business proves their desire to boost their dealers' competitive edge and profitability."
Isuzu commercial trucks continues OEConnection's focus on the highly time- sensitive repair market of medium duty trucks. D2DLink, with its expansive search capabilities and near-real-time inventory updating, offers significant potential for time savings and improved customer satisfaction while supporting this segment's reliance on 24 hour repair facilities for swift, cost-effective vehicle repair.
OEConnection will offer Isuzu commercial truck dealers its complete line of D2DLink products including D2D Plus - Idle & Reporting, a marketing tool designed to help maximize the profit potential of every part in a dealer's inventory. Dealers can also choose D2D Plus - Inventory Updating, which offers mid-day and Saturday options for online publishing of a dealer's most current inventory.
