N-able Technologies Releases N-central(R) 4.0 Managed Service Center

N-able offers largest install base of MSPs new functionality for desktop and asset management

OTTAWA, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- N-able Technologies(R) Inc. today extends its managed services software portfolio by releasing N-central(R) 4.0. Featuring new functionality for desktop monitoring and asset management, N-central 4.0 delivers the comprehensive tools required for a managed service provider (MSP) to proactively manage multiple customers' networks, systems, applications, desktops and security infrastructures from one central location.

N-central 4.0 gives MSPs who oversee as few as 5, or as many as 100+ customers the ability to automate up to 50 per cent of the IT service and support tasks related to managed service engagements. Availability, capacity, asset, threat, performance analysis and historical trending can all be viewed easily on a central Web console and supported by comprehensive reports and correlated notifications.

The new desktop monitoring package in N-central 4.0 includes auto- discovery and import of devices and applications, asset reporting, antivirus activity and update tracking, plus patch and application compliance management.

N-central 4.0 promises to increase a managed service provider's business value by providing high profit recurring revenue, increased technician utilization rates and better service for its customers.

"N-central and the N-able MSP program provide an exceptional avenue for us to strengthen our abilities in the MSP market. Higher-quality services and increased revenues are only two of the benefits we've experienced over the past two years," said Rory Sanchez, president of SL Powers, a Fla.-based managed service provider. "With N-central, our services have become a significant force in the market for addressing our customer's need for increased uptime and decreased risk."

New Features introduced in N-central 4.0:

- WMI-based Auto-discovery and import
- Asset discovery & reports
- Notification scheduling
- Agent and probe backward compatibility
- Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) integration
- SMS notification
- Default dashboard
- Dashboard navigation page
- Windows(R) dashboard
- SQL, IIS, ISA and Terminal Server services

N-central 4.0 provides MSPs with the ability to group devices into network, security or Windows(R) dashboards and deliver on demand or scheduled reports. In addition, customizable service engines for SNMP, WMI, Syslog and generic log provide MSPs the ability to tailor their service offering to the unique needs of their customers.

"N-central 4.0 extends the revenue generation ability for our partners by providing them new functionality for the desktop, enhanced capabilities for managed security and improved reporting of business value to their end users," said Mark Scott, President & CEO, N-able Technologies. "This release along with the recent unveiling of our MSP Maturity Model caps off an incredible 2004 for N-able where we have clearly become the standard for managed services."
