Lingo Internet Phone Service Adds 'Universal' Numbers in Spain

Lingo Internet Phone Service Adds 'Universal' Numbers in Spain

Lingo Customers Can Have Their Own 'Local' Phone Numbers in 14 Countries

MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Lingo (http://www.lingo.com/), the broadband Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone service, has added "local" phone numbers in four of Spain's top markets. U.S. customers coast-to-coast can now sign up for Lingo "International Universal Numbers" in 14 countries around the globe.

U.S. Lingo customers who have relatives and colleagues in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia or Tenerife, Spain, can now select a phone number that is "local" to that city, so that their family, friends, and business associates in those markets can call the Lingo customer on that number at the price of an in-country, local call.

Providing these International Universal Numbers further emphasizes how the combination of a broadband Internet connection and a telephone can radically alter the cost of placing a telephone call from one part of the globe to another -- transforming an international long distance telephone call into a regular local call.

With today's announcement, Lingo International Universal Numbers are currently available for the following cities outside of the United States:

* Argentina -- Buenos Aires
* Australia -- Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney
* Brazil -- Curitiba, Florianoplis, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro
* Canada -- Toronto, Vancouver
* France -- Paris
* Guatemala -- Guatemala City
* Hong Kong
* Italy -- Milan, Rome
* Japan -- Tokyo
* Puerto Rico -- Caparra (San Juan)
* South Korea -- Seoul
* Spain -- Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Tenerife
* Taiwan -- Tapei
* U.K. -- London

Lingo customers may sign up online for two phone numbers for their Lingo Voice over IP service. In addition to selecting "International Universal Numbers," they also have the opportunity to keep their existing phone number, or to select a "U.S. Universal Number" from numbers available in 46 states -- more coverage than most major U.S. VoIP providers are currently able to offer.
