SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- PC World, the most widely-read computer or business magazine, remains the industry leader with the highest 2005 guaranteed paid rate base, total readership, and average newsstand sales in its competitive set. "Quality content and quality circulation remain our top priorities at PC World," said Jeff Edman, president and CEO of PC World Communications, Inc. "The sheer number of editorial awards we've won prove we're fulfilling our mission of providing readers with trusted technology advice. We're also pleased to post the highest average single copy sales in our competitive set, even with a higher cover price."
Since newsstand buyers proactively choose one publication over another, single copy sales statistics are particularly noteworthy. PC World outsells PC Magazine by a margin of nearly 3:1, despite a higher cover price of $6.99, which shows readers are willing to pay a premium for PC World's award-winning editorial.
And, PC World continues to lead PC Magazine in total paid circulation by nearly 150,000 issues, according to the ABC Publisher's Statements for the six months ended 6/30/04.
Continued Edman, "Sales success for any product is proportionate to the number of potential buyers who know about it. Advertisers planning media for 2005 can be assured of maximum reach through PC World's larger, guaranteed 100% paid rate base, which now exceeds PC Magazine's by 150,000 or 21%."
Results from the recently-released MRI, Fall 2004 study show that PC World readers have a high affinity with its content. PC World holds an 11% advantage over PC Magazine with those who read 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4 issues. And, PC World readers spend an average of nearly an hour with the magazine -- that's 18% more time reading articles and/or ads than PC Magazine's audience spends reading their issues.
