NSTL's appRELAY(SM) Program Gaining Traction With Mobile Application Developers and Publishers

Major Developers Embracing New Service as Way of Getting Mobile Applications to Market

BLUE BELL, Pa., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- National Software Testing Labs (NSTL), the world's leading mobile application testing provider, announced that its appRELAY(SM) service has been adopted by more than 30 mobile application developers. NSTL's appRELAY program, launched in June 2004, is designed to help developers get their applications to market quicker and with higher quality. appRELAY is a "one-stop-shop" service that puts in one convenient source the QA testing, quality reviews, localization, and application porting that developers and publishers request. This concept accelerates the process of getting an application to the wireless operators and makes the entire process more efficient for the developers, operators, and platform owners. The appRELAY program details can be found at http://www.nstl.com/apprelay/index.html.

Developers participating in appRELAY are assigned a dedicated project manager who leads a highly trained testing team. The program includes an extensive inventory of handsets and a library of test plans for the wide variety of application categories. Applications can usually be tested and a report generated within 24-48 hours of NSTL's receipt of the application. This acceleration of time to market is a key element generating interest from the developer community.

NSTL has relationships with virtually all mobile application developers and publishers by virtue of its position as the authorized test facility for the major mobile application logo and certification testing programs including: QUALCOMM TRUE BREW, Microsoft Mobile2Market, Sun Java Verified, and Symbian Signed. Additionally, NSTL provides independent testing services for a growing list of network operators in North America, Europe and Asia. These relationships give NSTL a unique insight into the requirements mobile application developers and publishers have in taking an application to market. Network operators are also increasingly relying on NSTL's understanding of the developer community to assist in helping create solid developer relationship programs.

"NSTL designed appRELAY to appeal to both developers and publishers of mobile applications by offering a package of services including QA testing, localization, translation, and porting," said NSTL CEO Lloyd Holder. "We listened to the needs of our clients and the industry and are pleased that the market is quickly realizing and taking advantage of the value of 'one-stop shopping' for these services. NSTL's unique industry position allows us to add value to developers by mastering and managing all the requirements of both operators and platform vendors," added Holder.

Global Entertainment Publisher JAMDAT Mobile Inc. has been working with NSTL for years. Commented Scott Lahman, President, Publishing for JAMDAT, "JAMDAT endeavors to deliver high-quality, compelling games to our customers and partners. NSTL, through their appRELAY program, has been a very effective partner in helping us to achieve our goals."

"NSTL has helped us get our applications to Verizon Wireless much more quickly than if we had to do all the testing internally," said Dennis McFern of Airborne Entertainment. "Furthermore, it demonstrates Airborne Entertainment's commitment to delivering high-quality products to the mobile market."
