Last Concorde Nosecone for Sale on eBay

LONDON, November 30/PRNewswire/ -- What a difference a year makes. In December 2003 a Hungarian businessman
paid GBP320,000 for a Concorde Nosecone at a Bonhams Auction. Now - the only
remaining 'spare' flown nose is up for sale on eBay with a reserve of less
than 10% of that figure (GBP24,500). This flown nosecone is believed to be
the last one available for purchase by a private individual - the other three
"spares" having been auctioned by BA and the rest all attached to aircraft in
museums.



A year after its last flight there are still parts of the aircraft to be
had, but prices have come down from the heights of last year. Concorde
Collectables Managing Director Nick Bloomer says "demand remains high but
prices are lower, as the reserve on the Nosecone shows. Concorde is held in
great affection by the public which together with the rarity of these items
means the investment desire is still strong."



Last week a Concorde nosecone (due to be fitted to an aircraft in a
museum) was displayed at Buckingham Palace as a British design icon along
with a Mini, a Red Telephone Box, and a Routemaster bus. Comments Nick, "The
Routemaster, the Mini, and the Telephone Box were all mass produced but only
20 complete Concorde aircraft and a handful of spare nose cones were ever
manufactured, making these very rare collectables"



So - what will anybody actually 'do' with a Nosecone? "We've decorated
the one on our website as a supersonic Christmas tree as visitors to
www.concordecollectables.com will see but we expect this nose cone will
probably end up as a unique centre piece in the reception area of a large
home or business".
