Atomic Fiction Announces Cloud Rendering For All

Visual Effects Studio to Release "Conductor" Cloud Processing Platform in 2015

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- During the keynote presentation at Google's Cloud Platform Live Conference today, award winning visual effects studio Atomic Fiction announced the company is releasing their cloud-processing platform, Conductor, to the public.

"When Atomic Fiction was launched, we felt strongly that the cloud was the future of data processing; not just in entertainment, but across many industries" said Kevin Baillie, co-founder of Atomic Fiction. "The cloud provides a lot of raw power, but putting it to real-world use turned out to be a daunting challenge. Conductor is our solution. With Conductor we've truly achieved 'better, faster and cheaper' when creating amazing visuals, and we're excited to be making it available to everyone."

Atomic Fiction has offices in Oakland, Los Angeles and Montreal, and is best known for its work on movies such as "Star Trek Into Darkness," "Transformers Age of Extinction," "Looper" and "Flight." Through using cloud resources on these projects, and others, they have been able to scale their infrastructure to the size of the largest studios in the world.

"Conductor represents our belief in maintaining a big-studio infrastructure while supporting a creative, small-studio vibe. The cloud empowers this," said Ryan Tudhope, co-founder at Atomic Fiction. "We're really excited about Conductor's application in the visual effects and animation industry, and are equally excited to see how other industries use it."

In the keynote presentation today, Baillie demonstrated how using the web-based interface is remarkably simple, regardless of how complex the workflow is behind-the-scenes. Baillie added, "Conductor's custom integration team will be available to work with our customers to ensure a smooth fit into their workflows. After that, it's just a matter of what they dream up."
