Midroll Media Debuts New Wolfpop Network To Redefine Popular Culture Podcasting

Leonard Maltin, Sarah Thyre, Susan Orlean, Nate Corddry, W. Kamau Bell, Zachary Levi, and the editors of Rotten Tomatoes join a line-up of thirteen shows curated by actor/comedian Paul Scheer.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 4 the company that brings you the iTunes-topping Earwolf podcast network--with shows on top podcast lists from Rolling Stone, Paper Magazine, and the Onion A/V Club--redefines popular culture podcasting with the launch of Wolfpop. This is the second network from Midroll Media.

Like Earwolf, Wolfpop is focused on presenting world-class and rising talent, providing them with an unfiltered platform to share their passions and stories with humor and depth. Wolfpop features host-driven programs that permit brilliant analytic and comedic minds to dig deeper into Hollywood and entertainment than any network has ever dared.

Just as Scott Aukerman (Comedy Bang! Bang!, Between Two Ferns) provided the creative catalyst and direction for Earwolf, Wolfpop is curated by actor and comedian Paul Scheer (The League, NTSF:SD:SUV::, How Did This Get Made?). He has developed a slate of thirteen new and existing podcasts that are thought-provoking, funny, and--at times--poignant.

This lineup is hosted by luminaries and experts from the worlds of journalism, literature, comedy, and entertainment, including respected film critic Leonard Maltin, actress and writer Sarah Thyre, author and New Yorker writer Susan Orlean, actors Nate Corddry and Zachary Levi, socio-political comedian W. Kamau Bell, and the editors of Rotten Tomatoes.

Paul Scheer said, "Ears are our future. Treat them well and they will lead the way. This is a chance for us to treat your ears right by listening to some of my favorite people passionately discuss the things that are important to them."

"Earwolf blazed a trail for cutting-edge comedy podcasting, cultivating a smart, loyal audience by letting the world's best comedians create exactly the kinds of shows they would make if they had absolutely no restrictions," said Midroll Media CEO Adam Sachs. "Now we are applying this successful formula to popular culture with Wolfpop."

Every single one of these amazing new shows is now available for free at Wolfpop.com and in iTunes. That's thanks in part to Wolfpop's launch advertisers, Cards Against Humanity and Audible.
