Drync And TBS Team Up To Combat Global Wine Shortage With A Wine Give-A-Way In Celebration Of Cougar Town Season Premiere

TBS and Drync to award 2,500 fans with wine to mark hit comedy's season 5 launch

NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- To help combat the much publicized global wine shortage and celebrate the season 5 premiere of the hit comedy series Cougar Town, TBS is teaming up with Drync--the full-featured wine-discovery mobile app, to award 2,500 lucky fans free wine through the Drync app. Cougar Town, which stars Courteney Cox, follows a group of friends who support each other through the challenges and pitfalls of life with a little dysfunction and a whole lot of wine. Season 5 is set to launch Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on TBS.

With the impending return of Cougar Town, demand for wine is at an all-time high. In honor of the show's fifth season, TBS is giving away 2,500 Drync gift certificates for two bottles of wine, giving the show's fans a chance to join in the fun Cougar Town style.

To kick off the excitement, TBS will invite fans to download the free Drync wine app one week before the premiere. On premiere day, and for seven days following, Cougar Town will release a secret gift certificate code daily for two bottles of wine via Drync.

"Working with TBS on this unique and creative promotion for Cougar Town was a natural fit," says Brad Rosen, CEO of Drync. "This partnership introduces Cougar Town's social, wine-loving audience to a revolutionary way of buying and enjoying wine. We are proud to help Cougar Town fans get ahead of this disturbing wine shortage "

"Cougar Town fans are primed for all kinds of wine-soaked fun, making this promotion with Drync a perfect fit," said Tricia Melton, senior vice president of entertainment marketing and branding. "This is a great way for fans to celebrate the launch of Cougar Town's fifth season."

In addition to the free win promotion, Emmy®-winning television host and author Leslie Sbrocco - co-founder of ThirstyGirl.com - is also lending her expertise and love of wine surrounding the launch of Cougar Town's new season. Sbrocco will offer wine tips, wine pairings and how to throw a wine tasting party the Cougar Town way.
