8th Latin American Cultural Week From November 15 Through 24 Features Theater, Music, Dance, Film, Auctions and Visual Arts Events Throughout New York City

NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pan American Musical Art Research (PAMAR), founded and directed by Polly Ferman, presents its 8th Latin American Cultural Week (LACW), November 15 through 24, as a showcase of Latin American culture, with more than 60 theater, music, dance, film, auctions and visual arts presentations (http://www.lacw.net/) throughout New York City.

LACW 2013 is presented as part of a nonprofit partnership with The Nature Conservancy (http://www.nature.org).

LACW 2013's November 16 Opening Event is Encuentro NYC Colombian Music Festival, at Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker Street in Manhattan (http://www.lepoissonrouge.com/). More than 60 musicians will perform the entire spectrum of Colombian rhythms and styles.

Other LACW highlights include pianist Polly Ferman and her GlamourTango music and dance ensemble on November 18 at Malbec Tango House in Manhattan, the Brazilian Endowment for the Arts music, visual arts and literature programs, as well as the second year of Celebracion de la Cultura Hispana in Washington Heights, featuring the History of Tango, on November 21 with Quintet of the Americas woodwind ensemble and the Binelli-Ferman Duo, featuring bandoneon virtuoso Daniel Binelli, at Our Saviour's Atonement Lutheran Church, 178 Bennett Avenue in Manhattan (http://www.nomaanyc.org/2013/10/concert-history-of-tango/).

LACW 2013's Manhattan Closing Event, Ballet Hispanico (http://www.ballethispanico.org/), is on November 23 at The Apollo Theater, 253 West 125(th) Street in Manhattan.

The Brooklyn Closing Event, Canto de Vida Nueva, is on November 24 at Performance & Art Space, 622 Degraw Street, with music by Chilean composer Javier Farias, performed by Khorikos Choral Ensemble.

Pan American Musical Art Research (PAMAR - http://www.pamar.org) will celebrate its 30(th) anniversary in 2014.
