William Tempest for River Island Design Forum Collection Launches at Fash/On Film
LONDON, September 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
William Tempest's exclusive River Island Design Forum collection made its debut at
London Fashion Week on Friday.
The range, which will be available online and in selected stores in October, was
showcased in a short film as part of the River Island Fash/On Film initiative in
conjunction with the British Fashion Council.
The 13-piece William Tempest for Design Forum collection was inspired by ancient
Egyptian mythology, 1920s interiors and the work of M.C. Esher. The scarab beetle, a
symbol of wealth and power for ancient Egyptians, acts as a motif which runs throughout
the range via prints and finishes.
Key pieces from the collection of effortless eveningwear separates and accessories
include a sequinned chiffon shirt dress, an art deco plunge back column dress and laser
cut heels [http://www.riverisland.com/Online/women/shoes--boots/heels ]. Black and nude
fabrics with opaque contrasts feature heavily alongside textiles designed exclusively for
the collection, including a tessellated design and a geometric art deco pattern.
Fashion editors, models and film-makers including Caryn Franklin and Poppy Delevigne
attended this season's Fash/On Film event which included films featuring Anna Dello Russo,
Laura Bailey and also William's River Island Design Forum film. William's film, titled "It
Will Not Always Be Summer" was created by director Ryan Hope. The exclusive trailer can be
seen online from the River Island website.
