Bell celebrates Canadian filmmaking at TIFF with cinema inspired street-art installations and interactive Canadian Film Modules


TORONTO, Sept. 5, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As Lead Sponsor of the Toronto
International Film Festival, Bell today announced a tribute to the art
of Canadian filmmaking at this year's Festival. Featuring live and
augmented cinema inspired installations by some of Canada's leading
street artists and interactive modules showcasing the best of Canadian
film, Bell invites both festivalgoers and the general public to share
in the experience.

of course played a leading role in the Festival's growth and continued
success. This year Bell is inviting everyone to make our innovative
tribute to the success of Canadian film part of their TIFF 2012

Live Art: Bell's "O Cinema"

Five cinema inspired street-art installations will be created at various
times and locations near the main TIFF hub at Roy Thomson Hall
beginning at 4 pm on September 6, the first day of the Festival.

Artwork will be augmented with time lapse photography and other
enhancements accessed through Bell's free 'O'Cinema' app for iPad and
iPhone. Enhancements will be available starting the day after the
artwork is completed through the reminder of the Festival.


Canadian Film Module

In collaboration with Telefilm, Bell will pay tribute to Canadian cinema
with a free showcase of current and classic films. Offered at the
innovative Canadian Film Module located in David Pecaut Square,
visitors will use gesture-based technology to navigate through the
Canadian films playing at this year's Festival. TIFF attendees can
enjoy some of the greatest moments in Canadian cinema, explore related
artwork, and read interesting facts and trivia about each film.


Bell Fibe TV and Bell Mobile TV demonstrations

Over the 10 days of TIFF, Bell will also offer live public
demonstrations of its industry-leading TV services at the Bell Box
located at David Pecaut Square, next to the Canadian Film Module. Bell

a wide variety of live and on-demand popular sports, entertainment,
news and children programming directly to smartphones and tablets. Bell
Fibe TV and Bell Mobile TV will offer customers dedicated live TIFF red
